Student Life Assistant

The Dean of Students Office at Central European University invites applications for a full-time Student Life Assistant position.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assisting students in the arrival and leaving procedures (orientation, registration, gaining legal residence and insured status, collecting from and returning official documents to issuing authorities)
  • Maintaining up-to-date student files in the University database, archiving documents
  • Assistance in obtaining the Hungarian student ID card, validation, reporting to the relevant authority
  • Management of common email account and common office calendar
  • Drafting, editing, proofreading texts in English and Hungarian
  • Day-to-day administrative assistance to students during office hours and via email communication
  • Keeping in contact with the Taxation Authority, National Health Insurance Fund, Immigration Office, Government Documentation Office, and the Educational Authority
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and web content editing, regular update of unit’s website and Facebook page
  • Tasks on an ad-hoc basis, which may involve assisting in event coordination

Qualifications:

  • College/university degree
  • Fluency in English, Hungarian. German knowledge is an advantage
  • Full computer literacy, confident use and good working knowledge of Office programs is required, as well as some experience with databases, knowledge of Prezi
  • Precision, attention to detail, priority-setting, multitasking
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Friendly, attentive and proactive, customer-oriented attitude
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment and/or at a university and customer service experience are an advantage

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is for a fixed term position until December 31, 2019 with a possibility of renewal.
