The Communications Office at Central European University invites applications for a Communications Coordinator position.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing high level administrative support to the Communications Office;
  • Liaising with departments and units across the University on communications-related projects;
  • Managing the design, production, ordering and sale of CEU merchandise;
  • Working closely with graphic designers and printing companies to produce communications materials;
  • Handling the procurement and all other financial processes of the Office;
  • Handling photography requests and scheduling professional photography for high-profile events
  • Writing/editing/uploading short pieces of content and photos to the CEU website and Flickr channel.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • At least 2 years previous administrative experience;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Hungarian;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • High level computer literacy and advanced / expert knowledge of the MS Office suite;
  • Willingness/desire to learn new skills and technologies
  • Experience in or interest in communications, media relations, social media, and branding;
  • Experience in or interest in marketing publications;
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and take the initiative;
  • A precise, proactive and efficient attitude and work ethic;
  • Multicultural orientation and open-mindedness.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Structured and flexible way of thinking aimed at problem-solving;
  • Experience with financial and budgeting processes;
  • Experience with project administration and coordination;
  • Knowledge of SAP.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience. CEU offers a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international working environment.  The initial contract is for one year with a possibility of renewal.
