The Alumni Relations Office at Central European University invites applications for a full-time Alumni Fundraising Coordinator. The Alumni Relations Office at Central European University invites applications for a full-time Alumni Fundraising Coordinator. The successful candidate will be an integral part of CEU’s Alumni Relations Office and be responsible for the unit’s fundraising efforts. Under supervision of the Head of Alumni Relations s/he will create, plan and implement both current and new initiatives to cultivate, solicit and steward prospective and existing alumni donors in line with CEU’s strategic goals.

Fundraising is one of the main pillars of alumni engagement at CEU. Over 3,000 alumni have so far supported four funds:  CEU Generation (scholarships), CEU Academia (departments), CEU Action (unrestricted fund) and CEU Home (campus).   More info about the CEU Impact Alumni Campaign is available here

Duties and responsibilities

Major roles and responsibilities include:

  • Plans and implements a strategy for cultivation, solicitation and recognition of alumni donors;
  • Plans, supervises and implements special cultivation and donor appreciation events including the President’s Reception during Alumni Reunion Weekend;
  • Oversees the Raiser's Edge alumni donor management system to run reports, queries, and mailing lists as advised by the Head of Alumni Relations;
  • Tracks special alumni donor event attendance, and updates and maintains records as necessary;
  • Works closely with Student Philanthropy Council on design and implementation of student-focused programs including CEU Philanthropy Week and Graduation Class Gift. 

Qualification & Experience

Essential:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in fundraising campaign planning and delivery; 
  • Minimum BA degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business, English, or related field;
  • Proven project management skills, including event management.
  • Strategic approach to data analysis;
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong communication and writing skills: able to interact confidently with a variety of constituents and clearly convey information in writing and in person;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as take initiative independently;
  • Commitment to respect and maintain confidentiality of donor information.

  • Experience of working in a higher education environment

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
