The Student Records Office at Central European University invites applications for a FIR (FIR: Felsőoktatási Információs Rendszer) assistant position. The Student Records Office (SRO) provides a wide array of services related to the academic aspects of studying at CEU. The Office is responsible for overseeing enrollment and course registration, the preparation of diplomas, as well as keeping students’ academic records. It also monitors the submission of grades and administers the conferring of various academic achievement awards. Furthermore, it coordinates the Apostille procedure, provides assistance regarding course registration procedures, degree verification, and manages the functions of the University Information System related to academic matters. The office is also responsible for reporting to the Hungarian Higher Education Information System (FIR: Felsőoktatási Információs Rendszer).

The Student Records Office at Central European University invites applications for a FIR (FIR: Felsőoktatási Információs Rendszer) assistant position. The Student Records Office (SRO) provides a wide array of services related to the academic aspects of studying at CEU. The Office is responsible for overseeing enrollment and course registration, the preparation of diplomas, as well as keeping students’ academic records. It also monitors the submission of grades and administers the conferring of various academic achievement awards. Furthermore, it coordinates the Apostille procedure, provides assistance regarding course registration procedures, degree verification, and manages the functions of the University Information System related to academic matters. The office is also responsible for reporting to the Hungarian Higher Education Information System (FIR: Felsőoktatási Információs Rendszer).

 Duties and responsibilities:

  •  Reporting students in the Felsőoktatási Információs Rendszer (FIR) throughout the year
  • Correction of various error messages by cooperating with and giving guidance to other CEU units
  • Receiving FIR newsletters and taking action if necessary
  • Participating in FIR development in close cooperation with the software developers
  • Improving FIR reporting
  • Overseeing OSAP statistics (student reports in the National Hungarian Statistics)
  • Participation on FIR Forums
  • Submitting tickets to Eduline
  • Liaising with Hungarian Educational Authority (Oktatási Hivatal, OH) representatives 
  • Configuration of the database for FIR purposes
  • Answering FIR-related questions inside and outside the university
  • Renewing signature card yearly and purchasing necessary licenses
  • Providing reports to other CEU units based on FIR information
  • Monitoring felvi.hu
  • Monitoring weekly statistics newsletters from the OH
  • Liaising with in-house CEU counsel for FIR purposes
  • Sharing FIR-related information with other units/colleagues

 Qualifications:

  •  Precision, attention to detail
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills;
  • Strong results-orientation
  • Experience in a similar position
  • Experience working in multicultural environment and/or at a university is an advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English and Hungarian
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge or understanding of software development lifecycle principles and methodologies is an advantage
  • Fluent Hungarian and English

 
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is for one year.
