    Central European University (CEU) seeks two academic technologists to work collaboratively to support online learning, instructional design, and collaborative technologies at a highly regarded international graduate institution. This is an exciting opportunity to promote and support academic technologies for teaching, learning and research. Both positions will work with faculty, staff and students to support design and development of new and existing blended or online course offerings utilizing appropriate e-learning tools, course management systems, and distance learning technologies.
    We envision that one position will focus more heavily on instructional design and online content development and the other on collaborative technologies and distance learning, although there will be distinct synergy between the two. Both positions require strong technical background as well as knowledge and experience with e-learning tools, instructional design, and online pedagogy. The successful applicants will work with other campus partners to promote and evaluate effective technologies, as well as strategies and best practices for e-learning.

    The Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives (Blinken OSA) at Central European University (CEU) is a complex archival institution. Blinken OSA is both a repository of important collections, primarily related to the history of the Cold War and grave international human rights violations, and a laboratory of archival experiments on new ways of assessing, contextualizing, presenting, and making use of archival documents.

    The Web Editor / Web Content Manager is responsible for the overall management of Blinken OSA’s online content, and contributes to the maintaining of its online community and promoting its activities on social media platforms.

    The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS CEU) in collaboration with the VISUAL STUDIES PLATFORM (VSP) invites applications for a four months VSP Fellow for the academic year 2017/2018 (Fall/Winter term). The residential fellowship is offered on a competitive basis to a junior scholar whose research engages innovatively with various visual media including film and digital technologies. The fellow will teach one course as part of the Visual Theory and Practice curriculum that will be open to all students of the university. The program aims to promote projects that would advance the development of Visual Studies at CEU and contribute to its curricula. As fellow of the IAS he/she will also be part of its fellow community and may participate in all IAS activities.

    Visual Studies Platform at CEU invites applications for a Visiting Professor in visual theory and methodology with particular emphasis on digital and interactive media as well as cross-media perspectives. We are looking for an experienced academic with a strong background in theoretical reflection and comparative media analysis. The successful candidate will offer a 2 credit MA course as part of the Visual Theory and Practice curriculum (Fall or Winter 2017/2018). The proposed course may include visual and media theory, digital cultures, history and theory of new media and web-based technologies. Candidates who apply are asked to identify their strengths and experiences in curriculum development and working with interdisciplinary graduate students in novel ways to accomplish curricular goals. They are also expected to contribute to relevant knowledge exchange initiatives with institutional partners outside CEU.
